Jeffery broke his arm at school today :(

Today it was the left arm he broke. It was a pretty severe break--Cyndi said his arm, between the wrist and elbow, was shaped like the sink drain trap. GROSS!!!! So severe, the school called the ambulance before Cyndi could even get there, and she only lives about 2 blocks away! It very nearly came through the skin :::shudder::: He was playing football and slid in the mud, catching himself with his arm. Ouch. At least he is able to write and can do his homework. But it will be awhile before he plays football again or practices the trombone. He just had his first band concert at school last night too. The paramedics commented on how good he was on the way to the hospital. What a trooper. They pretty much learned his life story (all 12 years of it LOL) and they already knew Grace by the time she and Cyndi arrived at the hospital. LOL Grace was a little freaked out by the hospital, but seemed to take it all in stride once she got a grape popsicle. ;) Jeffery gets the "real" cast tomorrow. I guess he has a splint and sling thing for right now. Oh, and next weekend he's going to be in a wedding. He just got fitted for his tux last weekend. Wonder how it's going to look with a CAST!! LOL

He broke his right arm when he was 6. He was living with us at the time as Cyndi and Pat had just got married and were still looking for a house over here, getting the job situation taken care of etc. It was the first week of first grade and he fell from the top of the appropriately named playground toy, "Pike's Peak" and broke his arm just above the wrist. It looked like a gooseneck!! I nearly puked. And then I had to call Cyndi at work and tell her. Since then he's had a couple of concussions and stitches in his forehead, now the second broken arm. You'd think he was accident prone or rambunctious, but for a boy of 12 he really isn't. Just has bad luck from time to time I guess. That's my buddy.
